A Viroqua man was arrested June 28 as a suspect in a marijuana growing operation.

Brent Felde, 43, was taken into custody after a Vernon County Sheriff’s deputy observed a marijuana growing operating at Felde’s home on Call Road in Sterling township.

The deputy saw the marijuana operation while attempting to serve a warrant on Felde.

After the Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant, deputies found approximately 29 marijuana plants planted in pots in the shed at the residence.

Charges of manufacturing and possessing marijuana will be sought through the Vernon County District Attorney’s office.

The incident is still under investigation.
