District adjusts remaining school calendar in light of snow days

Interest in the regional girls’ basketball competition in the Boscobel High School gym spilled over into the Boscobel School Board regular meeting Tuesday evening. The meeting was initially planned to be bookended with closed sessions. The closed session scheduled at the end of the meeting for a quarterly review of District Administrator Greg Bell was tabled until March to allow board members to attend the game.

The public portion of the meeting was largely without discussion as board members acted on a number of items discussed in closed session, including approval to issue a final notice of non-renewal of contract for Special Education Director Amy Mezera, who was not present.

The vote on Mezera’s contract saw a single dissenting vote, that of board director Roger Knoble. The nay vote was made without comment.

Knoble was more vocal about his perception that the district needs to make sure a preventative maintenance schedule is in place for the snow removal and lawn care equipment owned by the district.
