With 1½ months before the start of school, the 2013–14 Platteville School District staff list is starting to take shape.

The Platteville School Board approved three hires and three transfers July 8:

•    Sarah Droessler, a UW–Platteville graduate, will be filling the seventh-grade language teaching position. Droessler majored in Social Studies–Comprehensive, minored in Interdisciplinary Studies and history, and has an early-adolescence teacher certificate.

•    Molly Judge, a UW–Stevens Point graduate, was hired for the vacant fifth-grade teaching position.

•    Elizabeth Babcock, a UW–Platteville graduate who student-taught in Mauston and was a long-term substitute teacher in De Forest, was hired to be the Platteville High School agriculture teacher. Babcock is replacing Jodi Marshall, who is resigning and leaving the state to get married.

•    Special education teacher John Richter is transferring from Platteville Middle School to Westview Elementary School.

•    Two Neal Wilkins kindergarten teachers, Brooke Buch and Jamie Hartwig, are moving to first grade.
