The Southwest Conference Honor Band Festival was held at the UW–Platteville Center for the Arts Saturday.
This all-day festival included select music students from Dodgeville, Lancaster, Platteville, Prairie du Chien, Richland Center, and River Valley.
Their conductor/clinician for the day was Prof. G. Daniel Fairchild.
“The day is one of celebrating the success of fine musicians and making great music happen in the lives of these young students,” said Fairchild.
The Honor Band Festival is held every other year with the band students coming together on odd-numbered years and the choir students on even-numbered years. Students receive their music ahead of time to work with their own directors, then come together for one day culminating in a concert performance at the end of the day.
