The Platteville School Board approved the naming of Brandon Temperly as the new Platteville High School varsity girls basketball coach Sept. 28.

Temperly, who previously was the varsity girls coach at Waupaca High School, was the junior varsity boys basketball coach last season.

Temperly replaces Jim Lawinger, who was not retained as girls basketball coach after one season.

Temperly’s naming was tabled Sept. 14 after Lawinger asked to speak to the School Board about the decision to not retain him as girls basketball and softball coach. Lawinger was notified he wouldn’t be continuing as girls coach in late July.
