The Kids from Wisconsin will bring their free “Realize Your Dream” community outreach program to the UW–Platteville Center for the Arts Brodbeck Concert Hall Saturday, July 30 at 2 p.m.

The event requires a reservation to attend. Call (608) 212-7321 or email davispj@centurytel.net to reserve a spot.

The program invites community youth to share their love of performing and engage with “Wisconsin’s Musical Ambassadors.” Sessions include games and icebreakers for youth to interact with the Kids; a Q&A in which youth can receive tips on performing, auditioning, and the tour experience; learning a short, energetic dance number from the Kids show; or learning a rhythm from the KIDS band and visiting the tech and sound booth to discover the behind the scenes of a KIDS performance.

Youth in large and small communities might not otherwise have access to performing arts programs. “Realize Your Dream,” a Kids from Wisconsin outreach experience, is a free program allowing youth an opportunity to get a taste of life as a performer. KID’s troupe members “pay it forward” by teaching performance skills and tools that can be carried into daily life.  It provides a hands-on, creative experience, resulting in engaging and fulfilling important objectives for youth, which reinforces dedication and interest in the performing arts.

The Kids from Wisconsin is part of an entertainment tradition created for Wisconsin’s talented youth back in 1969. Their formal introduction to performance was at the Wisconsin State Fair and opened for many high profile acts.  Today, the pride and passion that enlightened that early music, lives on through a Kids from Wisconsin Revue.

Performing live annually for more than 120,000 across Wisconsin and the Midwest, the Kids from Wisconsin presents great entertainment with some of Wisconsin’s most talented performers ages 15-20. The revue is produced in collaboration with some of the country’s best writers, arrangers, and choreographers.

The Kids maintain a broad repertoire of music that includes the American favorites, Big Band, ’50s through ’80s classics, Motown, country, Broadway and current top hits, filling a two hour fully staged performance.
