Yes, it’s almost here! The Gays Mills Holiday Bizarre Bazaar will magically appear at the 212 Main Street Building in Gays Mills This Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Here’s a peek at some of the things you’ll find: bizart, locally made pottery, tie-died clothing for tots to seniors, hand-painted ornaments, herbal lip balms and salves, wooden things, homemade foodstuffs, origami jewelry, Sensy wax items, leather goods (belts, wallets), scarves, hats, candles, custom sewing and repairs, healthy holiday food baskets…well, you get the idea.

There will be a children’s drawing corner (free) and 2 sessions of Make-Your- Own holiday cards ($3 fee for ages 12 +).

This year’s event will feature a Decorate the Pink Flamingoes Contest.  We’ll provide the Pink Flamingos, you bring your decorations. Winners will be announced at 2 p.m. Entries will be on display in various locations throughout the village for the rest of the year and perhaps… into the future.

Hot coffee, cider, sodas and fresh baked cookies will be available.

Across the street from the Bizarre Bazaar, feel free to browse the Kickapoo Exchange, one of Wisconsin’s oldest food co-ops and the Village Greenhouse, with a lot of bizarre things besides plants…oh…and plants.

And at the Gays Mills Community Commerce Center on Highway 131, you’ll find Santa, an indoor farmer’s market and of course, the library, open until noon.

Across the street on Highway 131, you’re welcome to view (and purchase) works at the Gays Mills Arts Collective.

If you’re hungry or thirsty, on Main Street there is the Red Apple Family Restaurant, Halver’s Town Tap and the Last Call Bar and Grill.

For those who like a little evening socializing, the Second Saturday Square Dance, with live music and E-Z callin’ begins at 7:30 p.m. in the rear of the Kickapoo Exchange Building, across the street from the Bizarre Bazaar.
