The annual Platteville Regional Chamber Hometown Festival Week includes a new event, and a new location for another event, and a new day for a third event.
The new event is the Southwest Music Festival downtown Saturday, July 30. The festival includes a craft and vendor fair in City Park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and performances starting at 9 a.m. in City Park, the VFW Bar, The Ticket, Elks Lodge 1460, Erschen’s Florist, Red & Deb’s, Steve’s Pizza Palace, Badger Bros. Coffee, the new City Bar, Schoolgirlz, the Badger Bar and the Char Bar.
The Main Stage acts will be Black Water at 7 p.m. and the Blue Water Highway Band at 9 p.m.
The annual Hometown Hog Roast will be at a new location, Elks Lodge 1460, on July 30.
Three other major events continue. Southwest Health will host its 67th annual Berry Fest at Legion Field Tuesday from 4:30 to 9 p.m. The annual Party in the Park Salute to Volunteers will be held in City Park Thursday, July 28 from 5 to 8 p.m., with Ken Kilian’s Classic Big Band performing after the Salute to Volunteers. The annual Southwest Opportunities Center Glow Ball Golf Outing will be held at the Platteville Golf & Country Club Friday, July 29 at 6 p.m.
Hometown Festival Week begins with the annual Boy Scout Troop 82 Fly-In Drive-In Breakfast at Platteville Municipal Airport Sunday from 7 a.m. to noon. The UW Hospital Med Flight helicopter and antique tractors are scheduled.
The Mitchell–Rountree Stone Cottage Ice Cream Social will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Country Kitchen will host a fundraiser for the annual Historic Re-enactment in Mound View Park Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
The chamber will hold Business After Hours at Benvenuto’s Italian Grill Wednesday at 5 p.m. Before that, tours will be held at American Customer Care, 1551 E. Business 151, starting at 4 p.m.
