LCP presents "Faith County" this weekend
LCP

“Faith County” is the latest comedy the three-decade-strong Lancaster Community Players will bring to the stage of the Grantland Theatre this weekend.

A hilarious farce by Mark Landon Smith, this show is directed by veterans Michael Walter and Eileen Dushek-Manthe, and includes veteran LCP performers Lisa Nicolai, Shawn Steinhoff, Renee Heimdal, Mindy Marshall, and Patrick Dolan.  New faces on stage include Samantha (Sami) Bausch, Vicki Schmitt, Monie Konecny, and Kyle Shisler.

Show times are Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 22 at 8 pm, and Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. at the wonderful Grantland Theater, Lancaster’s own architectural treasure!  Tickets are $8 general admission, $9 reserved, available in advance from Lisa Zabel at 723-6348, or at the door before each performance.

Betrayal, Murder, Deception - you won’t find any of these in this latest play, as “Faith County” centers around a group of friends gathering at the county fair in Mineola, which is somewhere between nowhere and the south. But don’t think for one moment that nothing happens at the fair as a years’ worth of events happen to the  characters.

Two women who claim to be best friends vie for their turn to win the coveted craft ribbon at the county fair. A sassy lass pines for a hog farmer. The preacher’s wife, a man who can’t commit, a very-pregnant woman, the town matriarch who drinks too much, and the village underachiever all add to life as they know it.
