Platteville native David Kastner is scheduled to receive a kidney donated by his wife, Rachel, in Dallas Tuesday.

David Kastner has polycystic kidney disease. According to his cousin, Missy Lipska, he has been on dialysis for more than a year and unable to work. He has been on a transplant list for two years.

The Kastners have a 1-year-old daughter, Kennedy.

David Kastner’s daughter, Kayla Cathman, is organizing a fundraiser for the Kastners at the Char Bar, 60 N. Second St., Saturday at noon. The event will include live music, a motorcycle run, live and silent auctions, and a bake sale. The cost is $15, including food. A percentage of all sales will be donated to the Kastners.
