The Kickapoo Woods Cooperative will offer a ‘Prescribed Burn Workshop 101’ on Saturday, April 4 at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve Visitor Center.

The workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. The cost to participate is $40 per person or $35 per KWC member.

Lunch will be provided.

Attendees should dress for being outdoors and wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment: cotton pants, boots, safety glasses, leather gloves). There will be a classroom session in the morning and a field session in the afternoon.

Participants will work with a small controlled burn, weather permitting.

This course will not prepare students to serve as a burn boss or conduct burns on their own.
