The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit has announced that registration for the upcoming 5K run is open.

The third annual 5 K-9 Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run will be held at the Sheriff’s Office  in Viroqua April 11. The ¼ mile fun run will start at 9 a.m., and the 5K run will start after that.

Trophies will be awarded to the first place winners for male and female in the fun run, and all participants will receive an award ribbon. All proceeds will help benefit the K-9 Unit for annual maintenance, training, and equipment costs.

The pre-registration deadline is March 27. That will ensure participants receive a 5-K-9 Run/Walk t-shirt and registration for $20. Entrants registering  after March 27, or the day of the event,  will pay $25 and will not receive the t-shirt.
