Flash flood watch through Tuesday morning
Possibly up to 6 to 8 inches by Wednesday

A flash flood watch is in effect for all of Southwest Wisconsin through Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service in La Crosse reported that “Rainfall amounts through Wednesday morning could easily range from 2 to 5 inches ... possibly up to 6 to 8 inches” in locations.

As of this afternoon, flood warnings are in effect for the Kickapoo River at Readstown, Soldiers Grove, Gays Mills and Steuben, and the East Branch of the Pecatonica River at Blanchardville, As of Monday morning the Kickapoo was at 14.7 feet in Gays Mills, above flood stage of 13 feet, and at 13.9 feet in Steuben, above flood stage of 12 feet.

Flood warnings take effect for the Mississippi River at McGregor tonight, at Guttenberg Tuesday, and at Lock and Dam 11 Wednesday.
