The Platteville Historic Preservation Commission will officially consider the proposed new restaurant next to Steve’s Pizza Palace at its next meeting Jan. 19.

The commission met Dec. 15 but lacked a quorum, so it didn’t vote on the project, City Manager Karen Kurt said.

The proposal would build a restaurant next to Steve’s Pizza, requiring vacating part of Jones Street and the demolition of buildings at 45 S. Chestnut St. and 155 W. Main St.

The Plan Commission approved recommending the street vacation Dec. 7. The Common Council must approve the street abandonment.
