Wisconsin preliminary non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for September were released Oct. 21, and Vernon County’s unemployment rate dipped slightly from August.
The state Department of Workforce Development reported the latest figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Vernon County’s unemployment rate for September is 3.2 percent, compared to August’s 3.3 percent.
The estimates show Wisconsin’s preliminary seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate at 4.3 percent, lower than the national average of 5.1 percent.
Neighboring counties’ unemployment rates for September are:
• Adams County: 5.5 percent, down from 5.9 percent in August.
• Juneau County: 4.2 percent, down from 4.3 percent in August
• Monroe County: 4.0 percent, up from 3.7 percent in August
• Sauk County: 3.2 percent, unchanged from August.
