Minor injuries reported in Christiana crash

Minor injuries were reported  May 2 in a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Co. P in Christiana township.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, at approximately 4:29 p.m., Trevor Groth, 19, West Salem, was driving west on P at a high rate of speed when he crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by Renee Moilien, 58, rural Westby.

Groth and his passengers Kendall Olson, 20; Tyler Gorniak, 21; and Ean Hesselberg, 20, all of West Salem, were wearing seat belts, and air bags in the Groth vehicle deployed. They were treated at the scene for minor injuries and released.

Moilien was wearing a seat belt and her vehicle’s airbag deployed. She was transported to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua by Tri-State Ambulance with minor injuries.

The Westby police and fire departments assisted at the scene.
