Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin announced that Thursday, Sept. 3 is Go Orange day.
Go Orange day is part of Hunger Action Month, a month-long campaign in September to raise awareness for the hunger-relief work led by Second Harvest Foodbank locally and the Feeding America food bank network across the country.
On Thursday, individuals, businesses, organizations, schools and faith-based groups are invited to wear orange (the symbolic color for hunger), take a photo and post it to Facebook.com/NBC15Madison using #Orange4SHFB and #HungerActionMonth.
For every photo posted, Second Harvest will receive a donation of 40 meals from Lands’ End, Habush Habush & Rottier S.C., Amtelco, Automation Components, Inc., Cargill Feed & Nutrition — Milton and Starion Financial. The goal is to generate 72,000 meals from 1,800 photos.
