The Advisory Board of the Shullsburg Community Fund has approved grants to area organizations serving the needs of Shullsburg totaling in $10,818. The 2015 grants reception was held at the Shullsburg Pool Oasis. Grants were presented to the following organizations:
St. Matthew’s Council of Catholic Women for fellowship hall chairs; the city of Shullsburg for umbrella for Pool Oasis & restoration/painting of gazebo; the Shullsburg School District for PTA – heavy-duty heated laminator and Shullsburg miner mascot; the Centenary United Methodist Church for Vacation Bible School – G-Force and Badger Mine & Museum for past-perfect software & UV lighting/windows.
The Shullsburg Community Fund is a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a non-profit public foundation serving seven southern Wisconsin counties. The Shullsburg Community Fund and the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin assist individuals with their charitable contributions, in order to create enduring endowments for their communities.
The Shullsburg Community Fund was formed in 2004. This fund has given back over $50,000 to the Shullsburg Community. A wide array of interests, including the arts, education, recreation, heath care, human services, social services, historic preservation and housing needs, benefit from these grants which assist Shullsburg residents in all age groups – from the very young to the young at heart.
