The first Platteville Music in the Park Series concert featured the Platteville City Band Thursday evening, conducted by Dr. Barry Ellis, director of bands at UW–Platteville. A percussion ensemble was included as part of the concert. The Music in the Park Series concerts are being held in City Park in Platteville Thursdays through Aug. 23 (except July 5) from 6 to 8 p.m.
The concert schedule the rest of the summer includes Ralph Kluseman and Tud Bowden June 28, The Dang-Its July 12, Mama’s Puddin’ July 19, The Wundo Band July 26 (part of the Platteville Area Chamber of Commerce Party in the Park event), Viewing Party Aug. 2, Okham’s Razor Aug. 9, Fever River String Band Aug. 16, and Ken Kilian’s Swingtet Aug. 23. Proceeds from concession stands at the concerts will go to the Platteville High School Scholarship Fund. More information is available at www.platteville.org and www.pvmainst.com.
