Town of Marietta to hold public input forum on Roth CAFO expansion
AV Roth speaks
PORK PRODUCERS AV Roth of Crawford County, president-elect of the National Pork Producers Council, and Bob Uphoff of the Yahara Pride Farms watershed council of Dane County, spoke to the task force about issues pork producers face.

CRAWFORD COUNTY - The Town of Marietta will hold a special meeting for citizen input and a community discussion of the proposed 10,000-animal-unit expansion of the Roth Feeder Pig hog CAFO.

The operation that is proposed to be expanded is owned by AV Roth. Roth’s current facility is located in Marietta Township, where he manages a 3,000 head farrow-to-wean operation and grows more than 800 acres of corn and soybeans.

The meeting was called when the topic was broached at a prior board meeting. The town board determined that the best approach to address the topic, which was not on the meeting agenda, was to call a special meeting.

The special meeting will take place at the Marietta Town Hall, 45550 Maple Ridge Road, on Monday, July 15, 7 p.m. It is open to the public.
