Two people, including a juvenile, were injured March 20 in a two vehicle crash on State Hwy. 27 and Co. Road X in Christiana township.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, Daniel Chaulklin, 57, of rural Cashton, was northbound on 27 when Ronda Marie Pruett, 46, also of rural Cashton, failed to stop her vehicle at a posted stop sign on Co. Road X.

Pruett’s vehicle entered Hwy. 27 and collided with Chaulklin’s at the intersection. It rolled over and came to rest on its rooftop in the ditch line.

Pruett and a juvenile passenger in her vehicle both sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene and released.

Both were wearing safety restraints at the time of the crash, and both driver and passenger side airbags were deployed.

Chaulklin reported no injuries at the time of the crash.  He was also wearing his safety restraint.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Westby Fire and Police departments, Westby First Responders, Tri-State Ambulance, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The accident remains under investigation.
