Anna E. Jamieson, 97 of Monroe, formerly of Shullsburg, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at her son’s home. She was born April 27, 1914, in Benton, the daughter of Edward J. and Ellen (Whaley) McElroy. Anna grew up in Benton. She graduated from Benton High School in 1922 and received her teaching certificate from Platteville Normal School. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 344 North Judgement St. in Shullsburg, with Rev. John Bosco Pudhota officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew’s Cemetery in rural Shullsburg. Full obituary in the December 15, 2011 issue of the Republican Journal.
