Betty J. Lange, age 96 formerly of Browntown, passed away Nov. 21, 2017 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe.  She was born on Oct. 23, 1921 in Stockton, Ill., to Sheldon and Ethel (Brown) Bawden-Haase. Betty was a graduate of Gratiot High School class of 1939. She married Delbert J. Lange on Nov. 12, 1939.  Betty worked for several years at Micro Switch in Warren. A nursing career was always on her mind; she fulfilled that by attending Highland College and was part of the first graduating LPN class. Betty was also an EMT for Warren Ambulance Service. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Warren, ELCA women of the church, and memorial committee at the church. Betty was an avid Cubs fan, enjoyed having a cup of coffee with her family and friends, the love of her life were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Patsy (Delmar) Lawrence, Vickie (Keith) Pilz, and Dixie (Jerry) Davis; 8 grandchildren: Doug (Cathy) Lawrence, Cindy Dormon, Chris (Ryan) Johnson, Tracey (Mark) VanDeWoestyne, Kent (Tami Harding) Pilz, Julie (Tommy) Davis, Cory Neff, Angela (Tim) Kainz; 14 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Delbert in May 5, 1980, sister, brother-in-law, and grandson.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Warren, Ill.
Visitation was from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the church.
Pastor Bryan Odeen officiated.
Interment took place at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren.
A memorial has been established in her name.
