Coletta L. Allikas, 94, of Hillsboro, WI,  died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015 at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse, WI.

She was born Aug. 2, 1921 in rural La Farge, WI,  the daughter of Judson and Rosie (Rinehart) Erwin. She married George Allikas April 27, 1946.

Coletta and her husband worked many years as dairy farmers in the rural Valley area. She also taught at many rural school houses. She spent many years as a cook for Edward Kraemer Construction, keeping the workers fed, and loved to cook for family and anyone that stopped by the house to visit. Coletta loved to read, quilt, gardening, fishing and spending time with her family especially all her many grand and great grandchildren. She was a very active member of her communities and Hillsboro Wesleyan Church, and Valley and Hillsboro Homemaker clubs.

She is survived by her two children: Leonard “Digger” (Cheryl) Allikas and Shelly (Mike) Dolezal, both  of Hillsboro, WI; son-in-law, Norman Hawkinson of Tomah, WI; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; two brothers, Ronald and Gerald; and two daughters, Rachel and Maurene.

Memorial Services for Coletta will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 at Hillsboro Wesleyan Church with Rev. Roger Miller officiating. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to time of service on Friday at the church.

Thompson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
