Harold S. Folyer, 91, Fennimore and formerly of Boscobel, died on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 at Fennimore Good Samaritan Society.
He was born on June 8, 1920 in Fennimore, the son of Samuel and Georgiana (Williams) Folyer.
He was united in marriage to Velma Weinbrenner on Dec. 1, 1956 at the Methodist church in Prairie du Chien.
He was involved in farming his whole life. He moved to Boscobel after retiring from farming.
In his earlier years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards.
He resided at Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore since January 2003 where he loved working with beads and shells, playing bingo, and watching television.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Lois Jean (Joe) Titlebach, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two step-grandchildren, Diana (Gene) Strother and Ronald Titlebach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Folyer in 1965 and Georgiana Folyer in 1975; wife, Velma Folyer on March 16, 2002; four brothers, Denzel Folyer, Julian Folyer, Kenneth Folyer, and Floyd Folyer; and a step-granddaughter, Cheryl Titlebach.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in Hickory Grove Township, Grant County. Pastor Duane Andrus of the Fennimore United Methodist Church officiated.
The Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore, assisted the family with the arrangements.
