George Carl Hubbard, age 62, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 12th, 2016, in Conroe, Texas with family. He was born in Sterling, Ill. on Nov.15th, 1954, the son of Melvin Hubbard and Irene Owens. George graduated from Orangeville High School in Orangeville, Ill. in 1973.
Survivors include his one daughter: Jennifer (Brian) Hagaman of Coldwater, Mich.; five grandchildren: Timothy (Erika) Nilles, Tyler Nilles, Andrew Peri, and Derek and Devin Hagaman; one great-grandchild: Levi Nilles; four sisters and five brothers, along with many precious nieces and nephews.
George lived in Darlington for many years; he retired from dairy farming and started Hubbard Construction. He had a passion for construction and enjoyed working with the local Amish families.
When George was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed taking trips to Michigan to bond with his daughter and her family or traveling to Conroe, Texas to help his brother build up his chicken farm. George was a very outgoing, energetic, hardworking and caring man with a wonderful smile.
There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday, Feb. 20th, 2016 from 2-5 p.m. at the Erickson Funeral Home, 508 Main Street, Darlington.
