    L. Eileen Einerson, age 104, of Platteville, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at her residence in Our House, Platteville.  She was born Oct. 19, 1913 in rural Blanchardville, the third child of Martin and Belinda (Swiggum) Einerson.  She attended rural elementary school.  As a teenager, Eileen experienced a devastating tornado on her parent’s farm and graduated from Blanchardville High School with the class of 1932.  A year later she graduated from Platteville Normal School.  Eileen began a long teaching career at Prairie Ridge Rural School.  From there she taught for ten years at the Einerson Elementary School, the school she had attended as a child.  She then returned to what is now UW-Platteville to get a B.S. Degree in Education.  She taught four years at Prairie du Sac, and then Monroe.  In 1967, she received her Master’s Degree in Education from UW-Platteville.  Eileen taught third grade in Apple River and Warren, Ill., retiring in 1979.  She enjoyed traveling, including attending five world fairs from 1939 to 1974.  She was an avid sports fan, listening on the radio and later watching games on television.  Some of her favorites were the Wisconsin State Boys Basketball tournament, UW-Platteville teams, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Green Bay Packers.  A daily newspaper reader, Eileen kept up with what was happening in the country and the world well past her last birthday.  She enjoyed spending time with her family – parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, and cousins, as well as friends.
