Lois McGinley, 76, of Gays Mills passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Home in Soldiers Grove.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1935 in Richland Center to Orie and Macel (Drake) Croninger. She married Patrick McGinley at St. Philips Catholic Church. After their marriage they lived in Janesville for a few years. They later farmed at Rolling Ground. They have lived in Gays Mills for the past 40 years. She taught school in various places including Boscobel and Blue River. She also worked at Zimple’s IGA Store in Gays Mills. She loved to do arts and crafts. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gays Mills and also a member of the McCormick Rose American Legion Auxiliary.

Lois is survived by her husband, Patrick of Gays Mills; three sons, Kevin (Michele) of New Glarus, Patrick of Poynette and Gregory of Portage; a daughter, Maureen Speck of Iola; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the exceptional staff of Sannes Skogdalen for their help for the past years.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gays Mills. Friends called at the church one hour prior to the services. Father Zacharie Beya officiated and burial will be in the St. Philips Cemetery in Rolling Ground at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to: simefuneralforum.com
