M. Marcene Vondra, age 78 of Belmont, died on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.  She was born on May 14, 1935 in Darlington to Vernon L. and Amie M. (Seffrood) Smith. 

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at St. Philomena’s Catholic Church, 338 Chestnut Street, Belmont, with Fr. Tom Gillespie officiating.  Burial followed at Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation was held from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at Steil Camacho Funeral Home, 206 E. Harriet St., Darlington, where a rosary prayer service was at 3:00 p.m.  Visitation was also held on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. prior to the funeral Mass at the church.  The Steil Camacho Funeral Home, 206 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers and plants, a memorial fund will be established in Marcene’s memory.
