Robert A. Hynek, age 87 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro, Wisconsin.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1927 to Albin and Martha (Urban) Hynek in the Town of Henrietta, Richland County, Wisconsin.  He served in the U.S. Army.  Robert was united in marriage to Ellen Fanta on Sept.11, 1951 in Hillsboro.

They farmed for many years near Yuba; he also delivered mail for the U.S. Postal Service.  Following retirement they moved into Hillsboro.  Ellen preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 2009.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; especially doing word searches with his granddaughters.  He liked polka music and attending Cesky Den, watching baseball and playing cards.

Survivors include his sons, Randall (Michele) of Bourbonnais, Illinois, Lennis (Barbara) of Sparta and Terry (Maxine) of Ironton; grandchildren, April (Steve) Langelett, Julie (Scott) Owen, Emily Hynek and Alicia (Matthew) Phillips; step grandchildren, Stephen (Amanda) Blanchette, Richard (Jessica) Blanchette, and Sara, Aemilia, Peter, Catherine, Gretchen and Gregory Gray; great grandchildren, Addie, Payton, Ellyn, Mikayla, Michah, Lucas and Harper Jo; step great grandchildren, Colebrin, Parker, Patton, Adalie and Audrey; three sisters, Evelyn Unbehaun of Hillsboro, Marvelene (Bruce) Winchester of Beloit and Delores Sandmire of La Farge and a special friend, Jan Tauber. 

He was preceded in death by his Parents; wife, Ellen; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hynek and brothers, Harold Hynek and Ronald Hynek.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Rev. Alan Tripp officiating.  Burial was in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro.  Friends called at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Friday from 5-8 p.m. For online information go to www.pichafuneralhomes.com
