Fifty-year resident of Ferryville, Robin Metz, died peacefully at his Buck Creek Farm on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.
Robin served 51 years as Professor of English and Director of the Creative Writing Program at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., achieving international recognition as a published poet and fiction author. Many of his poems reflect his love of nature and celebrate the life and beauty of the Driftless Region.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Metz and Ronnah Metz; grandsons, Griffin Belzer, Ben Belzer, Duncan Metz Beard and Ambrose Metz Beard; his wife, Elizabeth Carlin Metz and former wife, Lynn Harlan.
