Theresa was born on July 13, 1970 in Hazel Green Hospital. The daughter of Donna M. Wedige and Richard E. Curran, Theresa lived most of her life in Shullsburg with her mother Donna Heim and adoptive father Mike Heim and three brothers.
Growing up her favorite pastimes were swimming, bike riding, reading Stephen King & V.C. Andrew novels. Reading has remained a passion of hers over the years. She loved visiting with Grandma Wedige, playing checkers, dominoes and cooking.
Theresa attended Shullsburg School and graduated in 1987. After graduation she joined the workforce, got married and had three children. She moved to Cuba City approximately five years ago where she lived with her special partner, John Murray and two sons. After their 2nd son, Theresa became a stay at home mom, did some babysitting and was very happy to have the extra time at home being with her family and spending more time with her four grandsons.
On Thursday, Nov. 3 after undergoing surgery at Platteville Hospital complications set in Thursday night and Theresa returned to Platteville Hospital. After 2 days Theresa’s health continued to deteriorate and she was med-flighted to UW Madison Hospital on Saturday night Nov. 5. The complications became too severe for UW doctors to help her gravely deteriorated condition. Theresa passed away with family at her bedside Sunday morning Nov. 6.
Survivors include her special friend John Murray of Cuba City, two daughters: Amber (Jed Adams) Gleason and Brittni (Nick Skinner) Gleason, both of Belmont; three sons: Corey Gleason of rural Shullsburg, Ryan and Spencer Murray of Cuba City; her mother Donna Wedige of Shullsburg and her adoptive father Mike Heim of South Wayne; three brothers: Duane (Tracy) Heim and Dennis Heim of Shullsburg, Daniel Heim of Dubuque; step sister, Bridget (Tom) Allbee of Cuba City, step brother Kevin (Rick) Curran of Cuba City; four grandsons: Nathan, Bradley, Evan and Mayson of Belmont; special uncle and aunt, Duane and Michele Wedige of Shullsburg. Theresa also had many aunts, uncles and cousins. Theresa was preceded in death by her special maternal grandmother, Nina Wedige, Shullsburg; also her father, Richard Curran.
Memorial services were held at Casey Funeral Home, Cuba City, Wisconsin on Nov. 10, 2016 visitation 5-7 p.m. and memorial service at 7 p.m. Officiating Sr. Eleanor Hoffman O.P.
Theresa’s family along with John Murray want to thank everyone for any kind gesture you may have done to help with grieving the loss of Theresa.
Lost too soon, but never to be forgotten. Love your family and extended family.
