Riverdale senior Nick Stitzer placed 16th out of 250 runners in the 15-18 age division cross country race at the USATF Junior Olympics in College Station, Texas Saturday, Dec. 10.

Nick Stitzer, Sr., Riverdale cross country
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Riverdale senior Nick Stitzer had one more high school cross country race as he competed at the USATF Junior Olympics at Texas A&M in College Station last Saturday, Dec. 10. Stitzer placed 16th place out of 205 runners in the 15–18-old age division with a time of 16:36.1 on an overcast 77-degree afternoon. He also earned a 9th-place medal in the 17-18 age division of 93 runners. Stitzer was competing against some of the best runners in the country. He will return to Riverdale to compete in wrestling this winter and track and field in the spring. Stitzer placed seventh in the boys' Division 3 race at the WIAA State Championships in Wisconsin Rapids, Oct. 29 in his final high school race for the Chieftains.  

HONORABLE MENTION (in alphabetical order):
Ian Crapp, Jr., 138 pounds, and Amryn Nutter, So., 126, Fennimore wrestling
Crapp (10–2) and Nutter (11–0) each went a perfect 5–0 to win their respective weights classes and lead the Golden Eagles to the team title at last Saturday's 24-team Sun Prairie East Bob Downing Scramble.

Ella Vosberg, So., G, Cuba City girls basketball
Vosberg poured in a career-high 32 points on 13 of 18 shooting from the field, and had six rebounds and five steals to lead the undefeated #4-ranked Cubans (7–0, 2–0 SWAL) to an 82–63 SWAL victory at Boscobel Tuesday night. She also has 12 points and five rebounds in a 66–33 win over Denver (Iowa) last Saturday and scored 16 points in an 86–28 win over Southwestern last Tuesday. 

Dylan Weigel, Fr., 126 pounds, Belmont/Platteville wrestling
Dylan Weigel (8–2) went 4–1 and place second at 126 pounds at the 24-team Sun Prairie East Bob Downing Scramble last Saturday to lead the Braves to a 12th-place finish.

Gavin Wunderlin, Sr., F, Potosi boys basketball
Wunderlin scored a season-high 31 points in a 72–52 blowout win over Iowa–Grant Monday night. He also had 13 points and four assists in a 59–34 win over Highland last Tuesday and a double–double of 24 points and 12 rebounds in a 63–42 win at Cassville last Thursday night. Wunderlin is averaging a team-high 21.8 points and 9 rebounds per game for the Chieftains (3–1, 1–0 SRW).
