GAME OF THE WEEK (Dec. 14–20)

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Potosi (4–1, 2–0 SRW) at River Ridge (6–0, 1–0 SRW), Thursday, 7:30 p.m.

Potosi travels to unbeaten River Ridge tonight in this week’s McDonald’s SWnews4U.com Game of the Week. The Chieftains are coming off their first loss of the season, a 69–43 non-conference loss at top-ranked Black Hawk (5–0), but coach Brad Bierman’s club holds a slight lead in the Six Rivers East standings just two weeks into the conference season. Senior Abby Kaiser is averaging a conference-best 27.2 points per game and is sure to be the main focus for coach Caron Townsend’s stifling River Ridge defense. The undefeated Wolves are coming off a 52–43 victory over Seneca on Monday. Sophomore Skylar White and junior Taylor Langmeier lead Ridge in scoring.
