Lady Tigers place fourth out of eight teams at Tiger Invite

 The Hillsboro track and field teams turned in a number of quality performances at its own invitational last Thursday afternoon.

The Tigers’4x800 relay team of Michaela Bach, Annie Haas, Kelly Parish and Shauna Parish won a silver medal with a time of 12:03.92.

Hillsboro’s second 4x800 relay team of Lydia Benish, April Thornsen, Macey Brown and Adriana Reese finished third in the event at 12:51.35 running as a JV entry.

Bach won a bronze medal in the 3,200, completing the eight-lap race in 14:50.0.

Kailey Preuss won a bronze medal with a third-place finish in the 100 hurdles (19.90).

Zea Woods place fourth in both the high jump (4–4) and long jump (13–4¾).

Woods, Kelly Parish, Courtney Fanta and Carly Krajco placed fourth in the 4x200 relay (2:16.92).

Belinda Griffin, Preuss, Brown and Thornsen finished fourth in the 4x100 realy with a time of 58.03.

The Hillsboro girls scored 61.5 points and placed fourth as a team. Brookwood ran away with the team title, amassing an astounding 185 points.

Hillsboro scored 49 points and finished seventh in the boys’ competition. Kickapoo/La Farge won the boys’ team title with 165 points. Brookwood finished second (125.5).

Zach O’Hair turned in the Hillsboro boys’ top individual performance, placing third in the 3,200 (11:28.0).
The quartet of O’Hair, Skyler Fisher, Avery Rueckheim and Paul-Andrew Griffin earned the bronze medal in the 4x800 relay (10:11.47).

Preston Kaus placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 16–0¾.

Fisher finished fourth in the 1,600 (5.23.34).

Ean Levy place fifth in the discus with a toss of 101–5½.

Bruce Brewer, Viroqua Invitationals

Last Tuesday Hillsboro competed in the 17-team Bruce Brewer Invitational at Bangor.

The Tigers struggled as a team scoring just five points in the girls’ competition and two in the boys’.

Monday the Tigers took part in the Viroqua Invitational on Monday. Results were not available at press time.

The Tigers will return to action Friday when they travel to Boscobel for the Sparky Reynolds Invitational. Hillsboro will then travel to Bangor on Tuesday for the Scenic Bluffs Conference Meet.
