Among this year’s 10 Six Rivers West all-conference girls’ basketball selections, three of the spots were filled by players from Potosi, while River Ridge players occupied two positions, and one spot was filled by a member of Cassville’s team.

Earning first-team all-conference honors from Potosi, and helping the Chieftains win a share of this year’s conference title were: seniors Abby Ames and Tiffany Langmeier, along with junior Haley Flesch.

Ames was the team’s top scorer on the year, averaging 13.9 points per game, with a game high of 28.

Ames also pulled down an average of 4.2 rebounds per game to go along with a team-high 3.2 assists and 3.7 steals per outing.

Langmeier concluded the year averaging 9.3 points, a team-high 7.4 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game.

Flesch contributed 7.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game this past season.

The Chieftains also filled two spots on the honorable-mention squad in seniors Bridget Curtis and Clara White.

Curtis averaged 8.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.8 steals per game, while White added 2.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.6 steals per outing.

As a team, coach Brad Bierman’s squad averaged 55.7 points per game, while giving up 40.5 points per contest to their opponents.

The Chieftains shot 32.9% from the field, including 18.7% from 3-point range. They were 55.9% from the charity stripe, committed an average of 19 turnovers per game, and came away with an average of 10.8 steals per contest.

For the River Ridge Timberwolves, junior Meagan Herrick and freshman Bridgette Meyers both earned first-team all-conference honors, while senior Andrea Patterson and junior Sabrina White, were named to the honorable-mention list.

Herrick was the team’s top scorer, averaging 14.3 points per game. She also averaged 3.2 rebounds per outing, to go along with 64 total steals and 26 total assists.

In only her freshman year, Myers averaged 10.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, while leading her team in total steals (83) and assists (50).

White concluded the season with 5.2 points and a team-high 4.4 rebounds per game, while also accounting for 43 total steals and 38 total assists in 25 games.

Patterson chipped in 2.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, while also dishing out 11 total assists and coming away with 21 total steals.

As a team, coach Caron Townsend’s squad averaged 40.8 points per game, while giving up 35.4 to their opponents.

The Timberwolves shot 36.9% from the field, including 22.1% from downtown. They had a free-throw shooting percentage of 56.2%, while committing an average of 17.2 turnovers per game, and coming away with 11.7 steals.

For the Comets of Cassville, senior Tiffany Junk took home first-team all-conference honors, while freshman Andrea Okey was named to the honorable-mention squad.

On the year, Junk averaged a team-high 12.0 points per game, while pulling down 6.4 rebounds and dishing out 1.3 assists per game.

Okey concluded the season averaging 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game.

As a team, coach Travis Beer’s squad averaged 34.5 points per game, while shooting 28% from the field, including 28% from downtown.

The Comets made 55% of their free throws on the year, while they also committed an average of 16.4 turnovers per game, and came away with an average of 13.7 steals per contest.

This Year’s Six Rivers West Player of the Year was Blaire Lutes of Benton/Shullsburg, while her coach Nathan Russell, was named the league’s Coach of the Year.
