Lady Bulldogs rout Darlington, 12-2

It was an exciting game for the Lady Bulldogs on Monday afternoon, as they faced off against Darlington at home. Boscobel were on point with their hitting throughout the game and ended the night with Miranda Beinborn and Sydney Williams completing one home run a piece, to help lead to the Lady Bulldogs victory, 12-2 over Darlington.

“We played really well and only had one error,” coach Al Gillingham said. “We were solid on defense and we were able to put the ball in play.”

The two teams sped through the first inning with both teams remaining scoreless. However, that was not the case through the next two innings, as the Lady Bulldogs completed eight runs of Darlington’s defense, while the Redbirds remained scoreless. Going into the top of the fourth inning, the Lady Bulldogs defense gave up a run to the Redbirds.

Going into the fifth inning, the score was 8-1with the Lady Bulldogs leading and Darlington up at bat. Boscobel’s defense quickly took out Darlington in the top of the fifth. However, when Boscobel was up at bat Darlington managed to give up a run to the Lady Bulldogs, bringing the score to 9-1. The Redbirds were not willing to give up and attempted to rally back, but only scored one run off the Lady Bulldogs offense. Boscobel stepped up to bat and from there were able to score three runs, to win the game 12-2 in the bottom of the sixth.

Leading hitters for Boscobel  were Hailey Bray (4x4), Tayler King (1x3), Jayden Molzof (1x3), and Katie Ritter (1x1). Molzof completed one double. Beinborn had one home run and three RBIs (runs batted in) and Sydney Williams had one home run and two RBIs.

Starting pitcher for Boscobel was Anna Johnson pitching three innings giving up one hit. Williams pitched the final three innings giving up two hits and two runs.
