DODGEVILLE – The prep wrestling seasons of Platteville senior Vinny Anderson and Belmont junior John Hentrich will continue on.
    For the rest of the Belmont/Platteville co-op team, Saturday’s WIAA Division 2 Dodgeville Regional was the end of the line.
    Anderson (24-7) used a bye, a 5-2 decision over Cuba City/Southwestern’s Forrest Thill and a 6-4 sudden death victory over Richland Center’s Silas Coleman to claim the 182-pound regional title.
    Hentrich (20-13) advanced to Saturday’s D2 Richland Center Sectional with a second-place finish at 138 pounds.  After a first-round bye, he pinned Prairie du Chien’s Andrew Kordus in the semifinals, before losing a 10-5 decision to Dodgeville’s Jasper Meeker in the finals.
    “I am hoping that Vinny can place in the top two at sectionals,” said Belmont/Platteville head coach Andrew Campbell.
    “John lost a tough match to Meeker. I believe that he may wrestle him again at sectionals and may have to beat him if he wants to qualify for state.”
    Other than his two sectional qualifiers, coach Campbell pointed to Platteville junior Austin Loeffelholz’s fourth-place finish at 160 pounds as a highlight.
    “Austin impressed me because he beat a wrestler from Prairie du Chien that tech-falled him earlier in the year,” said Campbell.
    Loeffelholz (9-22) defeated Jake Feye 11-7 in the quarterfinals before back-to-back losses ended his season.
    The WIAA Division 2 individual sectional meet will be held at Richland Center High School, on Saturday, Feb. 16, starting at 10 a.m. The top three finishers in each weight class advance to the 2013 WIAA State Tournament to be held at the Kohl Center in Madison on Feb. 21-23.
