Connor Flynn, a Lancaster High School Senior, is the latest student to receive a $1,500 scholarship from the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation (WSTF).
Each year, local telephone companies — including TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) ¾ participate in the WSTF scholarship program. The scholarships are available to high school seniors in the company’s service area. Applications are reviewed by WSTF volunteers who select finalists based on financial need, academic achievements, and extracurricular activities.
Flynn, a WIAA Scholar Athlete nominee, is one of 33 students the WSTF selected to receive a $1,500 scholarship in 2013.
This year the foundation is awarding more than $55,000 in scholarships. Since 1966 they’ve awarded more than $1.2 million dollars in scholarships. The foundation is part of the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association, a trade organization representing 65 telephone companies and cooperatives in Wisconsin.
