Luther College junior performs in Fall Opera Scenes

Hannah Scholbrock, Luther College junior of Potosi, is performing in the fall opera scenes program “Duels, Divorce, and Divas: The Drama Unraveled” at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on the Luther campus.
The performances are open to the public with no charge for admission.
Scholbrock, the daughter of Wendy and Roger Potosi of Potosi, graduated from Potosi High School in 2011, and is majoring in music and linguistics at Luther.
Directed by Luther College professors Karen Kanakis and Jacob Lassetter, the program will feature scenes drawn from well-known operas, including Puccini’s “La traviata,” Offenbach’s “Les contes d’Offmann,” Beethoven’s “Fidelio,” Menotti’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors,” Verdis “Falstaff,” Moore’s “The Ballad of Baby Doe” and Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onégin.”
