A Platteville native will hold a book signing in downtown Platteville Saturday.

Kay Clark will sign copies of Sebastian & Me: A Rite of Passage and Spiritual Journey, at Kathie’s Gifts and Uniques, 35 E. Main St., Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sebastian & Me is about Clark and two of her cats, Sebastian and Sidney, and the five months Sebastian went missing. “I kept a journal and integrated some spirituality in trying to keep it together and the people I met along the way,” said Clark.

Clark graduated from Platteville High School and lived in Platteville for 28 years.

“This is a collection of true, heartwarming stories of unconditional love, loss, the strength of the human spirit and the bond formed between a cat and its owner,” said Clark, who described Sebastian as “the Heaven-sent Band-Aid that was needed at a time of several losses and provided the unconditional Love that soothed and softened the edges of some of Life’s blows.”

The book describes after Sebastian’s escape the “many questions [that] arise strengthening the faith and conviction that there is a stronger force out there that is in control and looking out for our good, helping us learn the lessons we were sent here to learn and experience.”

Clark’s book will be on sale for $9.95 in black and white and $26 in color.
