wm wedding web

Erin Whitney Adams and William Michael Schlager were united in marriage on Saturday, July 9 at Interstate State Park in St. Croix Falls with a picnic reception following.  Officiating were Rev. David Saetre, Northland College chaplain, and Rev. Karen Ebert, aunt of the groom.  Because they had a Minnesota marriage license, the couple, along with witnesses and the pastor, took a brief leave from the reception and canoed to the Minnesota side of the St. Croix for the official certification.
Parents of the couple are Jim and Carol Adams of Richfield, Minn., and Lynn and Susan Schlager of Platteville.  Attendants included Sarah and Emily Schlager and Anna Leach, sisters of the groom, Sara and Hannah Adams, sisters of the bride, Katie Sausen, Brittney Piatz, Brian Clements, Daniel Reuters-Ward, Drew Cramer and Allison Mills, friends of the couple.  The processional and recessional were clarinet duets by Joel Glickman and Carly Clemens with additional music by Daniel Reuters-Ward and Marty Schoofs.
The bride wore an ivory colored, ankle length silk gown with a corset-fitted bodice and fringed hem by Minneapolis designer James Riley.  The dress was accented with embroidered flowers.  The groom wore a pioneer-style brown vest and muslin shirt with lavender silk puff tie made by his mother.  Wedding and reception decorations were created by Carly Clemens and based on natural elements including native wild flowers, pine cones and an archway of woven branches.  The bride also carried a beautiful bouquet of wild flowers.
The bride and groom are currently employed in temporary positions and will be leaving in November for an extended trip to New Zealand and Australia.
