Ashley McDermott married Paul Miller on Nov. 20, 2010 at 3 p.m. in the Nohr Art Gallery on the UW-Platteville campus. The reception was in the Velzy Commons. The couple met on campus, so it was important for them to have their wedding there.
They had a wedding brass ensemble conducted by Dr. Barry Ellis, Director of Bands at UW-Platteville, with professional players and previous students.
Parents of the bride are Mike McDermott and Leslie McDermott, both of Platteville. Parents of the groom are Phil and Judi Miller of Kenosha.
The wedding party had six on each side. The best man was Nick Lane of Stoughton. He also officiated the wedding. The maid of honor was Kendall McDermott, sister and best friend of the bride. The bride wore a pink Mori Lee dress purchased from Bridal Boutique of Platteville.
Ashley is the new band director at Lancaster Middle School. Paul is the Music Caption Head/Brass Coordinator for the Shadow Armada in Oregon.
The couple has two miniature wiener dogs named Toby and Lola.
