The Vernon County Cattlemen Association has scheduled their annual “Build A Better Beef” Meeting for March 31 at the Rockton Bar.

The program will start at 6 p.m. with the “Build Your Burger Bar” dinner sponsored in part by Premier Cooperative and Chaseburg Farmers Cooperative.

The meal will be followed by a brief annual meeting of the Cattlemen membership attending.

Following the meeting, David Johnson, the Vice President of Marketing for Equity Livestock Cooperative,  will discuss the feeder calf market and the decisions cattlemen need to make about feeding the calves out to market or selling the calves when we are in a record high beef market.

The meeting is open to any interested cattle producer.  You do not have to be a member to attend.

There is no registration fee for Vernon County Cattlemen members.  The registration fee for non-members will be $5 payable at the door. In order to get an accurate meal count, people planning to attend are strongly urged to call in the number attending to the Vernon County UW-Extension Office at 637-5276 by the end of the day March 28.

The Rockton Bar is on Hwy. 131 between Ontario and La Farge.
