Richard Heins (center) of Madison, who grew up in Platteville, donated the seven-volume Source Records of the Great War, published by the American Legion in 1930, to Leo M. Kane American Legion Post 42 in Platteville. Also pictured are (left) Post 42 service officer Tom Taber and first vice commander Terry Woolf. Heins’ father, Amos, served in the Army in World War I, and was a Platteville alderman and president of the Common Council.
