New doctor at Southwest Health

The newest member of Southwest Health’s growing medical staff, Family Physician Anna Svircev, DO, MPH, began seeing patients at the Platteville Clinic at Southwest Health on Eastside Road Jan. 18.

Svircev joins 11 other full-time primary medical providers now employed at the health network’s Platteville and Cuba City clinics. Physician Jessica Schmid, DO, will also join the team in September. 

Originally from Middleton, Svircev performed her undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and earned a Master of Public Health degree in Behavioral Science and Health Education at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health in Atlanta. She earned a Doctor of Osteopathy from Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Ariz. She performed her internship and residency in Family Medicine at the University of Colorado in Aurora, Colo., from 2008 to 2011, and an advanced fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora, Colo., where she held positions as Senior Instructor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. 

She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and comes to Southwest Health with broad experience and knowledge in treating patients of all ages. 

Southwest Health built a $7 million, 20,000 square-foot addition to house a new Women’s Center and Orthopedic Institute and employed medical staff from two providers to 28.
