Cashton woman arrested following Fentanyl investigation

A 40-year-old-Cashton woman was arrested July 5 on four counts of possession of Fentanyl patches from an area nursing home.

Dawn Frederick was taken into custody by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation into reports of missing Fentanyl patches from the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. Fentanyl is a narcotic used to manage chronic pain.

During an interview with Vernon County Investigator Mathew Sutton, Frederick admitted to taking four Fentanyl patches. Frederick had a partial patch in her possession at the time of her arrest.

The theft of the Fentanyl patches occurred while Frederick was employed as the Certified Dietary Manager at Vernon Manor.

She appeared in court July 8.
