City Police Dept. hires new officer

Chief of Police Lucas Clements announces that Karl F. Fredriksen was recently hired as the newest police officer for the City of Richland Center. Officer Fredriksen will fill the patrolman position vacated after Chief Clements’ appointment on July 1, 2015.

Fredriksen is a 2011 graduate of Downers Grove South High School (Illinois) and a 2015 graduate of UW-Platteville, with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. In August of 2015, Karl successfully completed the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Training and Standards Bureau 520-hour Law Enforcement Recruit Academy through Western Technical College and will become a certified officer upon his hire.

Officer Fredriksen began his employment with the City of Richland Center on November 27 and will complete a formal 12-week field training program with Field Training Officer Sergeant Lauren Moe before assuming his regular duties.
