High-speed chase halted in Dubuque

On Sept. 20 at approximately 5 p.m. an older model Chevy truck was observed stopping at the intersection of Sandy Hook Road and Badger Road. The truck box was full of miscellaneous items and was stacked high enough to completely block view out of the rear window.
The actions of the truck and the fact that it was within a half mile of a storage unit facility caused the deputy to be suspicious of a possible burglary. The deputy caught up to the vehicle as it was exiting Badger Road onto USH 151 south bound. A registration check of the vehicle showed the owner to be Scott Marcov of Dubuque Iowa. The deputy activated his emergency lights in an attempt to made a traffic stop on the truck which in turn began to flee in an attempt to elude the deputy. Speeds reached 100 MPH as the chase crossed state lines.
The chase went into the City of Dubuque and was terminated due to speeds and traffic conditions. The Grant County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Dubuque Police Department. The incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Grant County Sheriff's Department.
