FAYETTE – An ongoing investigation involving Stateline Area Narcotics Task Force (SLANT), the Belmont Police Department and the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the findings of more than seventy-five marijuana plants and approximately twenty pounds of marijuana leaf “clippings” in the town of Fayette.
Eric D. Switzky, 36 and Kristen D. Switzky, 33, who were not home at the time, were both taken into custody later in the day. Both are facing felony charges related to manufacturing and distribution of THC as well as possession of THC with the intent to deliver.
On Wednesday, Oct. 18, members of the Monroe Police Department, Green County Sheriff’s Office and Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Jurisdictional Emergency Response Team, in cooperation with the SLANT, executed a search warrant at 8832 Lake Road regarding a suspected indoor and outdoor marijuana growing and distribution operation at the residence.
Along with the marijuana plants in various stages of growth and the leaf “clippings”, other items seized were related to a butane chemical hashish oil manufacturing operation. This is a dangerous and very combustible process. Numerous firearms were also removed from the residence for safekeeping.
Blanchardville EMS and Blanchardville Fire Department also assisted Law enforcement at the scene.
